I changed things up with this piece. I started with the board surface. I mixed some dye and putty, purple and green. The mixture was watered down pretty heavily and the colors were lightly mixed. I had the board in a pan and poured the mixture over the top. I used a hand blower to blow the fluid down the board which made the runny pattern.

For the lines, I only planned to use this particular piping tip to make the ridged lines. I wanted to leave more negative space with this piece. I put on a playlist of some ethereal music and let go.

The lines followed some of the lines made from pouring the substrate. It’s hard to tell with these images, but the base layer has an almost iridescence quality to it. The orange lines are very bold against the base layer.
